Löwenstein Organic Farm
The Löwenstein organic farm lies, bordering the city of Schaffhausen and Neuhausen, above the Charlottenfels castle like a small green oasis. Here, a diverse and motivated team ensures on a daily basis that valuable and sustainable products are manufactured. A large variety of vegetables thrive in nearby fields. Bordering pastures offer fresh forage for our cows, sheep, chicken, and pigs over the entire summer. The grounds are supplemented by outlying areas, enabling us to produce most of the fodder for our animals ourselves.
A walk through the grounds of the Löwenstein organic farm provides an insight into our daily routine, vegetable gardening, and into the life of many various small and large animals.
We produce fresh vegetables, eggs, beef, pork, and poultry, as well as various dried products. Our diverse products have been awarded the Biosuisse label, and additionally our meat has been certified as KAG free-range.
We supplement our customer product line with:
- Milk products from Randenhof (http://www.randenhof.ch/)
- Honey from Charlottenfels castle (these bees like to buzz about in our vegetable gardens or in catch crops)
- Pasta products, oil, seeds and much more from Tappolet organic farm (http://www.tappolet-biohof.ch/)
- Seasonal fruit
In addition to the Bioabokiste (seasonal box subscription: bioabokiste) which delivers these great products directly to your door, there is a self-service farm shop located directly on the farmyard; for opening hours, see below. Payment options are cash, TWINT and a monthly bill for regular customers.
We also supply local wholefood shops, kitchens, residential communities, and nursery schools with our seasonal offers. If you are interested, please contact us!
From march till october you can find us always on Saturday at the Schaffhausen weekly market on the Vordergasse. Sasha Hagen and her team are looking forward to many customers!
